American Fire Safety has been serving Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois communities for more than 35 years, Providing home fire safety education to more than 50,000 families.


It is our mission to provide the most complete and up to date fire safety information to families in our community without charge.


Through our educational presentations it is our hope that when in the market for affordable, quality home fire protection, American Fire Safety will be at the forefront of your mind.



About our President and founder



John Hutchcroft has been a leader in the home fire protection industry for more than 35 years. He has been a guest speaker for numerous groups, including many fire departments, civic groups, churches, schools and businesses. He has personally provided home fire safety training for more than 30,000 people. He is a published author and a frequent guest and guest host on WOC-AM 1420 Radio's "The Home Environment Show" and a news contributor on KWQC TV 6 News.


His Credentials Include:

  • U.S. Department of Homeland Security, National Fire Academy Certified "Community Safety Educator"
  • Fire safety and code training through a continuing education outreach program from Colorado State University.
  • NFPA 72 Fire Code Training
